Community outreach and Energy Education

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) 3 lot 4 project that our outreach team visited to curry out
sensitization and follow up on project implementation with scope of work covering Districts of
Wakiso, Mpigi, Gomba, Bukomansimbi, Lwengo and Kiruhura.
The team which was composed of CAA- Collins Muhwezi as team leader, Kigongo Hamidu
trainee and Ass. Project Eng. Lule Mark all from REA, STEG internal services contractor engaged
the beneficiary communities to ascertain compliance of social aspects of the project on both
sides of the contractor and beneficially communities.
This community engagement exercise that took 9 days stated on 29 th May 2019 with Wakiso
district and later moved to the rest of the scope. Project status interms of social compliance is
on truck, however, there is need for the contractor to re-emphasize consent form signing
because time is running out and notably 2 out of 6 districts in the scope have received and
signed consent forms.
