Gilbert Nayebare is a seasoned energy project officer and community engagement specialist with over 10
years of experience in advancing productive use of electricity and promoting clean energy solutions across
rural Uganda. At Street-Wireman Agency, Gilbert plays a central role in identifying, training, and supporting
rural entrepreneurs to unlock the economic value of electricity beyond simple access.

Prior to joining Street-Wireman, Gilbert served as Program Officer at AVSI Foundation, where he led
implementation of large-scale energy projects in partnership with GIZ, the European Union, and the
Ministry of Energy – delivering hands-on training in business development, energy appliance usage, and
sustainable livelihood integration.

Gilbert holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Makerere University and is certified in solar sizing and installation, credit management, and leadership trainingWhether mapping energy demand, building village partnerships, or coaching technicians on community-facing service, Gilbert is a key force behind our mission to wire not just homes—but opportunities.
